Draft Minutes of Lt Bytham PC Meeting 6th November 2025 7.30pm in the Village Hall
- Public Forum (15 minutes maximum) One resident attended the forum, he confirmed a new Vicar; Rev. Edward Martin will be looking after four churches in the area including St Medards. Gordon also requested a cheque for the Remembrance Sunday Church Wreath and asked if the PC would be willing to make a contribution towards the cost of the church grass cutting. The Chair confirmed, both will be discussed later in the meeting.
- Apologies for Absence Apologies were received from Cllr Smith.
- To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the 2011 Local Government Act. – personal or prejudicial interest in any items for discussion. None.
- Draft Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Thursday 7th August 2025 to be approved as the Minutes. The Minutes were approved unanimously.

- Councillors’ and Clerk’s reports:
5.1 County and District Councillors’ Reports. Cllr Vernon advised cases of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) have been detected in the Doddington and Corby Glenn area. A 10 mile exclusion Zone is in place. Cllr Vernon suggested, if you keep birds, keep them inside to prevent the spread of the virus. Cllr Vernon also explained, there may be some short term disruption to streetlights due to the clocks going back?
5.2 Councillors Reports. None
6.0 Financial Matters
6.1 Financial report: position at bank. The Clerk provided the year-to-date position of the PC accounts which were
approved and accepted. With all deductions is £3199.22.
6.2 To resolve the LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES PAY AGREEMENT 2025 for Parish Clerks. The Clerk circulated the
pay agreement to the Councillors highlighting the pay scale and the recommended 0.41p per hour increase. After a lengthy
and detailed discussion, the Councillors approved the increase. The Clerk thanked the Councillors and said how much he
was looking forward to his next cruise.
6.3 To resolve to pay the following: Clerks Salary £344.76. Glasdon Ltd (Dog Waste Bags) £65.64. Chubb Fire £119.90.
Church Remembrance Wreath £20. Lt Bytham Village Hall (Donation towards new Heaters) £2200.00.
Return of funds received in error £5999.14.
8.0 Highways. Church Lane (vehicles driving too fast). Cllr Hodgson advised a number of cars travel too fast on Church
Lane. One resident said a car nearly hit a child. Cllr Vernon will speak with Highways requesting a 5 MPH sign.
Flooding issues Station Road and surrounding area - Cllr Vernon will speak with Highways regarding the culverts.
Cllr Hodgkin raised concerns about the overgrown hedge and pavement on Station Road.
30 mph signs have been passed by SKDC on the road by the Spinney playground and will be changed in due course.
9.0 Planning applications –
9.1 S25/1568, R Jerams, Extension of 2 glamping pods to the existing business as well as associated
decking, footpaths, a sauna and minor landscaping. Glebe Farm, Little Bytham Road, Little Bytham,
Lincolnshire, NG33 4QN, Full Planning Permission request. (Circulated to the PC)
10.0 Correspondence – None
11.0 AOB - Cllr Hodgson had received correspondence from Katie Denyer, who has been organising the children’s Christmas parties in Little Bytham Village Hall. Last year’s Christmas party wasn’t so well attended and a family with 3 children have left the village since. Katie will contact the lady who organises the Castle Bytham Village Hall Christmas party to see if they could combine them. She asked if the PC would still be happy to contribute to the party. This was agreed unanimously by PCs.
12.0 Date of next Meeting – Thursday 5th February 2026.
